Lawrence Paul Delhommer, 83, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 in Destrehan, Louisiana. Lawrence was born February 13, 1935 to Louis and Edna (Garcia) Delhommer in Garyville, LA. He graduated from Leon Godchaux High School in Reserve, LA in 1954. Lawrence served as a Sergeant in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He met his first wife Faye and together they had a beautiful daughter named Linda. He unfortunately lost them both in a tragic accident in 1967. Shortly thereafter, he met and married his current wife, Mildred “Mickey” (Jordan) and together they adopted their two girls, Cristi and Paula. Lawrence worked at Avondale Shipyards as a Boilermaker for 32 years before becoming ill from asbestos exposure. Lawrence loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was actively involved in art, woodworking, gardening, and had volunteered his time at Live Oak Elementary School and Live Oak Manor Volunteer Fire Department. He was a gentle, kind and loving soul and will be missed beyond comprehension. A visitation in his honor was held Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Rose Lynn Funeral Home, 1870 Cabanose Ave., Lutcher, LA from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. followed by a prayer service.
